Seymour is a very special dog that needs a very special home. He spent the first six months of his life in a breeder cage. The breeder decided to sell and offered up Seymour prior to the auction. Seymour is so gentle, but he is very afraid of new people. When Seymour first arrived he would run to the far corner of our fenced yard and hide behind a bush and watch us. We would have to go pick him up and carry him back to sit with us. Now he loves to play and follows us around the yard with the other dachshunds. When new people come over he barks loudly and runs to hide. He does become curious and comes closer after awhile if the new people ignore him. He has come a long way. The day he managed enough courage to jump on my leg and ask to be petted...well it just made me feel good. Seymour does get along well with other dogs. Seymour is one of those dogs who will reward you in time with patience. If you ever wanted to help rehabilitate a doxie, this is your guy. He is like a normal doxie now with us, but we don't know how he will do in a new home. He must have a fenced in yard due to his flight risk. He loves playing with other dachshunds his age. Seymour's adoption fee is $250.
