Rudy was originally a very shy unsocialized puppy that came to DDR.

He was adopted to an elderly couple that adopted him however he never got socialized with them either. He loved them but would bark and nip at ankles when people would come into the home.

 

His owner developed dementia and had to be moved to a care center. Prior to moving she had home health workers that would come in and Rudy would nip at their heals. He was a terrible nervous piddler  He was very overweight when he arrived.

 

Rudy has now slimmed down, he plays with other dogs in our fenced back yard.

He is a door dasher to get in the house.

He does still nervous piddle a bit but nothing like when I first brought him home.

He is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks:(

During 4 the of July he tried pushing through my fence just to try to escape them.

I ended up letting him stay inside and use potty pads until fireworks season was over.

And I let him use potty pads during thunderstorms.

 

He has met my grandkids, they are 4 1/2 yrs old and 6 yrs old, and did fine with them.

They know to be calm and gentle with the dogs.

 

Rudy has come a long way since he came back to the rescue.

New people and new situations he will need to be slowly introduced to
