Miss Poppy
♀️ On DDR'a website, I'm Princess Poppy I really answer best to Poppy
⏰️ Age: 4 years old and 4 months (best guess)
I'm cream and white - I'm a Cavashon (King Charles Cavalier and Bichon Frise)
⚖️ Weight: ♀️ I'm light enough for foster mom to carry me up and down the stairs since I don't know how to do those. She says maybe 20 (ish) pounds
⏳️ I've been in rescue almost 1 month! I'm loving this new life!
️ I'm really shy when you first meet me, but I promise after some quality time with you, I'm a real cuddle bug
Now, that being said, I'm a velcro dog.. now that I've gotten more comfortable, I want to be with you 24/7!
⚠️ I need a fenced in yard. I've been practicing on a leash and harness
✂️ I need to be groomed regularly. My hair is fluffy on my face, but my body is a bit more coarse. My foster mom has been trying to work on my "tear stains", but it is a slow process
♀️♂️ I like men and women, but I prefer my foster mom. I'm not aggressive, just timid.
I live with teenagers, but I am still a bit timid around them. Older children (12+) would be best
Yeah! I'm good with felines. I'm more curious about them, so if you have a dog friendly kitty-cat, I am nailing this "co-existing" thing
I really prefer to have a playmate. Do you have a pup who will run around the yard with me? Plus, being a breeder relalease, a confident dog helps me learn how to dog.
I can be a bit bossy, so a confident, but relaxed pupmate would be ideal!
I don't really know how to play with toys, I just prefer pets. My roommate brings them into our space. A good sniff and I walk away Will you teach me how to play with toys?
I sleep in my kennel on my foster mom's nightstand.
She thought I wanted to sleep with one of my packmates in our space, but I howled all night. So she moved me to be close to her and I sleep through the night like a baby or maybe more like a teenager, since we know babies don't sleep
I've been working really hard on potty training. If I'm kept on a consistent schedule, I don't have any accidents. I do take a bit to find my spot outside So please be patient
☀️ During the day, I do have a piddle pad in my space, and I use that if I can't get outside fast enough.
I'm on 1/4c hard kibble 2x a day (soaked in water, but not soupy ) and 1 tablespoon of soft food.
The trick to get me to eat? You have to stand by me and possibly hold my bowl up. I eat my food SO S.L.O.W.L.Y
I haven't figure out the point of giving "treats"? I just lick them. At bedtime, I do eventually eat my treat in my kennel ✅️
I'm NOT spayed so I'm not available for adoption... YET! I'm available for adoption after May 25!
