Finn's foster mom update Feb 13th 2026. Hi! My name is Finn and I came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue after my family had some life changes and could no longer keep me. I’ve been settling in well with my new foster family and doxie brother and have proven I’m able to get along well and enjoy the company of all dogs and humans alike - big, little, male, female, old or young, it doesn’t matter to me! I can be very timid, unsure, and skittish of new people when I first meet them, but I do warm up after a bit. Once I am comfortable and know you’re a friend, I am the sweetest boy and you will be my forever snuggle buddy. I LOVE to sit on laps and snuggle with you on the couch or in bed, especially under blankets where it’s nice and warm, that is my very favorite! I’m a sun chaser - on sunny days, I drag my blankets and bed into the sun and nap until it’s no longer shining on me, then I move everything over to get back in the sunshine again! Since it’s been so cold, I haven’t tried walking on a leash yet, so it’s unknown how well I do with that, but I can tell you I’m not a fan of the cold weather at all so I’ve learned how to use potty pads in the house instead (which I much prefer!) I do require a fenced yard as I don’t know recall commands and am a runner/door dasher and frequently underfoot, so you always have to keep an eye on me. I am 5 years old, have a short black coat with a splash of white on my chest!
Hi! I'm Finn. I just arrived in Dakota Dachshund Rescue. My foster family is just getting to know me. Once I settle in and have seen the DDR veterinarian my bio will be updated.
My adoption fee helps with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental and microchipping. More about FinnGood with Dogs Other Pictures of Finn (click to see larger version):
