Sonny is a Black and Tan Short Hair "Tweenie" Dachsie boy. "Tweenie" implies half way "between" a mini and standard in size. However, his foster dad feels he is closer to a standard. Sonny and Heidi were surrendered to the Humane Society because of a move to California. A chain of circumstances brought them to DDR. Sonny is completely housebroken and leash trained; although going for "walkies" isn't high on his priority list. In warmer weather, he loves to wonder around the back yard and bark at the squirrels. He snuggles under the covers of the "big bed" to sleep and doesn't move all night. Sonny needs to be in a quiet adult home and would probably enjoy having another senior "Furr Baby" to hang out with. His foster parents can't say enough good about this quiet, sedate senior Gentleman. Won't you consider providing this wonderful senior his "Forever Home" ? Sonny's adoption fee is $150.00. More about Sonny, SrGood with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids Special Needs: As happens with many Senior Dachsies ( and their human guardians, as well), Sonny has developed some arthritis in his back and hind legs. This explains why "walkies" aren't high on his list of fun things. Also, he must be lifted up on the couch. And both up and down on the big bed. As with all Seniors (dogs and humans) cold winters bring increased stiffness in the effected joints. For this reason, Sonny gets "Pro-Pet -Glucosaminie Advanced Chronic Care" available in the pet department at Wal-Mart. $14.00 for 60 tabs (2 months supply). 1 daily..365 days a year.
