Germanfest Registration

Online Registration Instructions and General Information:

1.            To register your dachshund online, please complete this form, print a copy for your records, then click “Submit!”.  If you do not click "Submit!" your dachshund will not be registered for the race.

2.            Please note that these races are for dachshunds only – however we also have separate races for dachshund mixes or dachshund wannabees smiley Decisions on which heat you will run in will be made at registration are final.  Entrants for the dachshund races must be 100% German Lowrider’s but we love our mixes and wannabees and want to allow everyone to have fun!

3.            All dogs must be leashed when not racing or participating in the Costume Contest, and they must be current with their vaccinations.  A current rabies tag is required and/or their rabies certificate.

4.            Entrants must be of good temperament with both people and other dogs.  No aggressive dogs permitted.  No female dachshunds in heat permitted.

5.            Check-in time begins at 2:00 p.m. We will be in a new place this year – just east of the Germanfest festivities and the Kinder Area.  There will be signs and plenty of volunteers to point you in the right direction!

6.            At check-in, you will be required to pay your pre-registration fee of $15.00, sign a Promotion Liability Release Form and your dachshund will receive a numbered racing bib assigning them to the Senior, Adult or Junior races.

7.           Senior Races are for dachshunds 8 years old; Adult Races are for dachshunds 4 to 7 years; and Junior Races are for puppies 6 months to 3 years. Dachshund mixes races will be divided into heats according to size and possibly ages depending on how many we get registered.

8.            Cut off time for all registrations and check-ins will be 4:00 p.m. with the first race beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Races will be run sequentially:   Seniors will race first, then Adults, then Juniors and last but not least the dachshund mixes and dachshund wannabees– one right after the other.

9.            All entrants must be wearing their tag on their collar for entrance on the track, and they may have two people to coach them inside the track – one at the Start Line and one at the Finish Line.

10.            You may bring a favorite toy to encourage your dog, but it must be small in size and not distracting to the other racers.  Absolutely no lasers.  Normal toy squeakers are permitted.

11.          You are responsible for any deposits made by your dog on the track or near the race area.  Please have doggie bags available.

12.          There will be a 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winner in each heat.  Should there be more than one heat in any category (Senior, Adult, Junior, Dachshund mix), there will be a “race off” immediately following those heats to determine the Grand Dachsie!

13.          ONLY the 1st place winners of each heat in their category will be allowed to compete for the Grand Dachsie title and bragging rights for 2022!
