Hank is one terrific boy.  I love him already.  Hank has two teeth left so I feed him a mix of little bites dry, canned and warm water.  He loves it!  Hank's coloring is just beautiful.  He is one handsome guy.  He loves to be with his people and would love some of his own.  The size of Hank's heart is even bigger than he is.

Hank is a real "chow hound" and will clean his plate and then will move on to another dog's plate.  To counter this, he is separated via a baby gate, from the others.  Once everyone else is finished, he rejoins the crowd.

Hank is a real sweetheart; but being a "commercial breeder survivor", he displays some of the usual timid/submissive behavior. We are working on this by taking him on walks and short car trips. He needs one special human person to call his very own.  He is my constant shadow.  He is learning about walking on a leash and going bye-bye in the car. I'm afraid I've spoiled him by bringing him up on the "big bed" where he sleeps curled up next to me.

We have decided that Hank's ideal forever home will need to have another senior dachsie as Hank is a "follower" when it comes to going outside.  He does not like to go out doors alone.  He watches and waits for one of his "foster brothers" to go first and then he will folllow out he door.

Scooby and Shaggy have taught Hank all about squirrels.  How to run across the yard and bark at them as they sit just out of a wiener dog's reach in a tree.  The same "delinquents" have taught Hank about the mailman; how to jump up on the back of the couch, looking out of the big picture window and loudly announce to the world that the mailman is coming up the front walk.  We go thru much the same thing when the trashman comes each week because they are convinced that he is "stealing"our trash!

All and all, Hank is a very special Dachsie Guy needing a quiet adult home and one special human to call his own.  In return, Hank gives 1000% unconditional love and devotion.  Hank does not like to be separated from his person - to the point of being a "door dasher" if his special human goes out the front door.  He is, however, learning what "stay" and "sit" means. He is also learning about toys..squeaky balls and rubber bones.
