Almost every doxie that comes into the rescue has to be spay or neutered. We will not adopt out a doxie that has not been spay or neutered. Almost every doxie also needs to be updated on their shots. Finally almost every doxie needs a little dental work as well.
Once the medical attention is complete the doxie is placed in a foster home, and the stay in foster care can last anywhere from 2 to 6 months. Of course while in foster care there is the expense of a toy or two, a bed, and a blanket or two. They will also need to be fed and treated.
It is rare that the rescue recoups the costs associated with finding our friends a home. Sponsorship means that you have selected a doxie that touches you in some way. You would like to adopt them but for some reason cannot. A donation of $25.00 means that the costs of care for one month are being donated by you.
In the animals description on the website your name would appear as the sponsor. We also respect your privacy if requested.
You do not have to sponsor the doxie until he or she is adopted. How many months of sponsorship are up to you.
